ESD Inspection
ABE.TEC, s.r.o. has been an accredited inspection authority in the field of suppression of electrostatic discharge in the working environment and measuring the given parameters of individual items which are grounded or ungrounded since 2015.
This accreditation confirms our ability and capacity to perform inspections and audits in line with the following standards:
- IEC 61340-5-1 (incl. associated standards)
- ČSN EN 1081,
- ČSN EN 1815,
- ČSN EN 20345:2012, 20346:2012, 20347:2012
- ČSN EN 1149-1, 1149-5

The ABE.TEC, s.r.o. inspection authority is accredited by the Czech Accreditation Institute, which is an authority to which international agreements such as the ILAC relate, this meaning that they are recognised the world over.
What accredited inspection offers you:
- A document declaring conformity with the requirements of the given standard on launching of new ESD materials, tools, machinery and devices, etc. onto the market, or performance of ESD installation for a customer.
- Confirmation of classification of ESD items for selection within the framework of the ESD programme as a conformity document.

ESD audit
We perform a comprehensive audit in line with customer requirements, during which all of the ESD requirements are checked, or a partial audit, during which only selected ESD requirements are checked.
The ESD audit is constituted by verification of the settings of ESD requirements and their functionality in the ESD programme which has been introduced, as well as detection of any non-conformities with the requirements of the ČSN EN 61340-5-1 standard as amended.
ABE.TEC s.r.o., a company certified in line with ISO 9001 for consultancy in the field of antistatic protection, performs ESD audits of dedicated areas for work with electrostatically sensitive components in line with procedure based on standards from the ČSN EN 61340 series.
Professional auditors perform random inspection of the ESD components which have been introduced, a check on their functionality and compliance with the required parameters. They perform the required measurements using measuring devices calibrated by an accredited laboratory.
What the audit offers you:
- Inspection and verification of the functionality of introduced ESD requirements of the ESD programme for protection of components which are sensitive to electrostatic discharge through comparison with the requirements of the ČSN EN 61340-5-1 ed.3 standard, or in-house directives.
- Detection and definition of non-conformities.
- Recommendations for remedying non-conformities.
- Subsequent remedying of non-conformities leads to an increase in the quality of the ESD measures which have been introduced.
What constitutes output from the audit:
A record of audit of the ESD programme which contains:
- the result of checks which were performed, values measured on ESD items
- evaluation of individual ESD components in line with the requirements of the ČSN EN 61340-5-1 standard, or in-house directives
- a description of all non-conformities which were detected
- recommendations for remedying of non-conformities
Consultancy in the field of antistatic protection
Within the framework of its consultancy, ABE.TEC, s.r.o. offers detection and proposal for remedying the causes of problems with electrostatic discharge. Ensuring ESD requirements for protection of electronic components against electrostatic phenomena in line with the required regulations and standards is one of the basic criteria for ensuring the quality of production and services.
What consultancy offers you:
- analysis of any risks of occurrence of electrostatic discharge in the given EPA area. A partial audit, comprehensive audit or measuring of individual components is performed according to requirement.
- proposal of measures for elimination of electrostatic discharge. Proposal is drawn up for modification of the EPA area and organisation of work, recommendations for equipment with ESD devices, items, tools, recommendations for training and inspections, etc.
- elaboration of a project for suppression of the occurrence of electrostatic discharge for a specific problem
Training in the field of ESD
Training is focused on gaining theoretical and practical knowledge about the requirements for protection of components against electrostatic discharge in the production process and services. After having taken the course, participants gain a comprehensive overview in the field of antistatic theory. They will participate in practical examples of measuring and inspection and try out for themselves individual measurements and audit under the guidance of trained instructors.
Training is performed by a professional instructor with knowledge of the legislation and with many years of practical experience in the issue of antistatic protection.
After having taken the course, participants take a final examination and gain Certification as an ESD Coordinator.
ABE.TEC, s.r.o. is certified to provide training and consultancy in the field of antistatic protection in line with ISO 9001.
Content of the training is based on the ANSI / ESD 20.20 standards and standards from the ČSN EN 61340 series.
What training in the field of ESD offers you:
- Familiarisation with the legislation.
- Familiarisation with application of the legislation in in-house regulations.
- Theoretical and practical familiarisation with requirements for protection of components against electrostatic discharge.

ABE.TEC, s.r.o. is certified in line with ISO 9001 for production of electronic equipment, devices and aids and also produces its own products for the field of antistatic protection:
Grounding boxes
Grounding boxes are designed for quick and easy connection of grounding wrist straps at assembly sites in dedicated EPA areas. They can be used for permanent or service workplaces. The grounding box consists of a plastic box with three connection points on the front, a 2.5 m wire lead comes out of the box with optional terminals. Internal connection of terminals is accomplished either via a 1 MΩ protective resistor or directly. Various versions are available, including an ANTIVANDAL version with brass sockets.
Zemnicí vidlice
Grounding plugs are designed for quick and easy connection of protective grounding components to the grounding (to a socket) at assembly sites in dedicated EPA areas. They comply with the EN 61 340-5-1 standard. They are in particular suitable for temporary and service workplaces. For connection to the grounding, the grounding plug is equipped with one 4 mm banana socket and one device socket, which allows for connection of both banana and also cable terminals, plugs and bare wires. Internal connection of terminals is direct.
Antistatic service workplace
This is used as an easily portable antistatic workplace. It complies with the EN 61 340-5-1 standard. It is made up of a groundable antistatic mat for the worksurface, a grounding box, protective wrist strap and grounding plug. Dimensions: 800 x 600 x 2 mm.
ESD seat cover
This antistatic work chair cover is designed for modification of a regular work chair into an antistatic one so that it meets the requirements of the EN 61 340-5-1 standard. The modified chair can then be used for work in dedicated areas for electrostatically sensitive components in the electronics industry.
WS tester
The Wrist Strap tester is a test device designed for testing of protective grounding wrist straps used at antistatic workplaces in a dedicated area in line with the EN 61 340-5-1 standard. The previously mentioned standard prescribes a daily check on the fitness of these wrist straps.
WS Tester Gauge
The Wrist Strap Tester Gauge is a device which is designed for calibration of testers of protective grounding wrist straps which are used at antistatic workplaces in a dedicated area in line with EN 61 340-5-1. The Wrist Strap Tester Gauge is set at the given upper and lower limits with accuracy of 1%.
Combo tester
The Combo tester is an inspection device designed for testing of protective grounding wrist straps, wrist strap wire leads and antistatic footwear used at antistatic workplaces in a dedicated area in line with the EN 61 340-5-1 standard. The previously mentioned standard prescribes a daily check on the fitness of these wrist straps and footwear.
Combo Tester Gauge
The Combo Tester Gauge is a device which is designed for calibration of testers of protective grounding wrist straps, their wire leads and footwear which are used at antistatic workplaces in a dedicated area in line with EN 61 340-5-1. The previously mentioned standard prescribes a daily check on the fitness of these wrist straps and footwear with a tester which must be calibrated at least once a year.
